Haye(s) There

Exploring the neighborhood shops and restaurants in Hayes Valley on a sunny afternoon. photo dogcollage_zps66cdde1c.jpg photo IMG_4198_zps71460524.jpg photo IMG_4200_zps16b41882.jpg photo IMG_4201_zps1e54f13b.jpg photo IMG_4194_zps50b93d18.jpg photo IMG_4186_zps75fea9a0.jpg photo IMG_4193_zps3daaa1f6.jpg photo welcomestranger_zps3c485214.jpg photo IMG_4227_zps2d9a83ae.jpg photo IMG_4226_zps86060e2d.jpg photo IMG_4217_zps04f6ab86.jpg photo storemelange_zpsbf3a5e87.jpg photo IMG_4197_zps2eaca847.jpg photo IMG_4208_zps42312ebb.jpg photo IMG_4229_zpsb0366a6a.jpg

Work It Out or Sit It Out

Like everyone else in the western world, by late February, I'm usually clinging desperately to my New Year's resolutions. This time around, I have to say that I'm holding pretty strongly to one in particular: get in better shape (a revolutionary resolution, I know). As with all things I am reluctant to do, I often spur myself along with the proverbial carrot. Although, in this case, some of the carrots are actually just carrots. But I digress. Here are a few of the fun workout-related items that are calling my name and helping me make it to each class.
In the event that these consumer items don't get you up and out to the gym, have a look at this link where you can see what 200 calories looks like in lots of different foods. After all, we all know that it really is about what you eat.

Past Perfect

You know life has gotten far too stressful when you’ve run out of time to blog! I’m turning this ship around with some fun snapshots from a weekend morning spent perusing the goods at Past Perfect on Union and Fillmore.

Fa La La La La

I hope everyone's finished their Christmas shopping. It's rough out there!

Flower Power

I took a trip to the San Francisco Wholesale Flower Mart, which Martha Stewart Magazine calls "the best flower market in the country." Might want to take a look at it next time you're in town. Kind of a big deal...haha!

Gorgeous flowers everywhere. I bought an enormous orchid for $15! What's not to love? Let's hope I don't kill it.

Brunch + Browsing

I've been a little lax with posting, but that's because I've been out there exploring! I'll be playing a little catch-up here with alllll of the pictures I've been snapping everywhere.

Weekend brunch (with bottomless mimosas!) at Ironside and shopping at Jeremy's in SOMA. I heart weekends.

Sunshine + Soles

Wandering around Bloomingdale's yesterday, I saw SO many cute shoes for summer. With the sun out today, I'm hopeful that it's finally going to get warm enough to wear some of them!

'Tis the season!

I am entering wedding madness season! And no, I am not getting married. But I am accepting advice on attending all of the weddings and bachelorette parties and bridal showers of the seven (yes, that's right - 7) friends I have getting married in the next twelve months. While I should, perhaps, be preparing for these joyous nuptials by scanning all of the gift registries and saving my pennies for plane tickets and prezzies, I find myself, instead, scouring the racks of my favorite stores in search of the perfect dress to wear to each of these occasions. Typically, I would relish the search for a new dress for each affair, but given that it's not just two - or maybe three - weddings, it occurred to me that the idea of a different dress for each wedding is ridiculous. So, in an effort to conserve energy and funds (both of which I will need in full supply as the season cranks into high gear), I sought out my perfect wedding dress.

Picture it at a summer wedding with nude heels! Picture it at a fall wedding with a pashmina! Picture it at a winter wedding with dark tights! Picture it with cake spilled down the front, because that's a very likely reality. Or, just don't picture it at all because, chances are, if you're reading this, you'll see me in it, dancing away (cake in hand) wondering how quickly I can get it dry cleaned before the next big day!

But, I think it's so pretty that I can't stop pulling it out of the closet for another look :-)

"I got so city girl on you"

I heart Tegan and Sara. I also heart events that incorporate cocktails + shopping + spa services + complimentary tote bags with the word "sassy" on them. Here are a few pics from the Sassy City Chicks event. I know, I know - it's a ridiculous name, but it was a lot of fun!

Dress Up

Behold what I hope to be the first of many amazing Bay Area thrift store finds! This one was rescued from the racks of a store on Polk Street.

Aren't the ballerinas adorable?

Me + Mom

One of the best things about being back on the west coast is getting to see my family more often. Here, my mom makes her big San Francisco...Sometimes debut!
