In the beginning...I started with a big, old, dry mess. I dug everything out, and started fresh. Here is my progress over five or so weeks. You really CAN grow vegetables in window boxes, on a fire escape or balcony!

Four and a half weeks later, after tying the squash and the beans to stakes so the peppers get a fighting chance.
