Having explored Point Reyes National Seashore, we decided to veer a little and check out the long stretch of beach that leads off the point and wraps around the coast in what looks like miles and miles of untouched earth. Here are some photos from a cold and windy day on at The Great Beach.
This thing was a piece of art. Unfortunately, I had trouble capturing it in all of its glory due to the light.
Point Bonita is only a few short miles from San Francisco. You can see the lighthouse from the city, jutting out on the point into the sea. After AGES of not exploring it, I finally decided it was time, and we made the quick trip across the Golden Gate Bridge out to what seemed like another world.
Santa Cruz is such a cool spot. It makes for a super close and fun weekend - or even day - trip from SF. Here are a few snapshots of our most recent venture down there.
And then we made our way back up the coast to San Francisco to the tune of this gorgeous sunset. Until next time...
A recent trip down the coast led us to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, one of the coolest educational sites in Northern California. While the space was overrun with noisy kids, I was happy to see them eager to learn and found myself looking on in awe alongside them, especially as we explored the jellies.
And to finish...dinner at Peppers in Pacific Grove. Yum!
