Beachy Keen

Having explored Point Reyes National Seashore, we decided to veer a little and check out the long stretch of beach that leads off the point and wraps around the coast in what looks like miles and miles of untouched earth. Here are some photos from a cold and windy day on at The Great Beach.

This thing was a piece of art. Unfortunately, I had trouble capturing it in all of its glory due to the light.

To Squaw to Ski

Not too much snow this trip, but beautiful and fun nonetheless! photo visittosquaw_zps50d617b1.jpg photo IMG_3634_zps68d448f7.jpg photo IMG_3631_zpsec48f590.jpg photo threewide_zps8d673548.jpg photo IMG_3596_zpsde872358.jpg photo twoofus_zps7f3162e2.jpg photo IMG_3586_zps43a1c539.jpg photo IMG_3616_zpsaee7308e.jpg

Light it Up

Point Bonita is only a few short miles from San Francisco. You can see the lighthouse from the city, jutting out on the point into the sea. After AGES of not exploring it, I finally decided it was time, and we made the quick trip across the Golden Gate Bridge out to what seemed like another world. photo openingpic_zpsea282be5.jpg photo path_zps2df1b316.jpg photo walkingandentrance_zps8e4c94db.jpg photo goldengate_zps78c01d09.jpg photo inthedistance_zpscee3e381.jpg photo IMG_3556_zps8f63c809-1_zps16462541.jpg

Santa Cruzin'

Santa Cruz is such a cool spot. It makes for a super close and fun weekend - or even day - trip from SF. Here are a few snapshots of our most recent venture down there.

And then we made our way back up the coast to San Francisco to the tune of this gorgeous sunset. Until next time... photo IMG_3396_zpsd7242934.jpg

Away to Monterey

A recent trip down the coast led us to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, one of the coolest educational sites in Northern California. While the space was overrun with noisy kids, I was happy to see them eager to learn and found myself looking on in awe alongside them, especially as we explored the jellies. mg photo mg_zps612f7cf6.jpg photo IMG_3033_zps1febcaf6.jpg photo IMG_3091_zps51f1bdf8.jpg photo IMG_3055_zpsd1b40969.jpg r5 photo r5_zps24f8c0d2.jpg photo IMG_3102_zps74b0febc.jpg photo IMG_3031_zpsb654453b.jpg photo IMG_3030_zpsb98edca5.jpg cd photo cd_zps8a6a69b2.jpg photo IMG_3064_zpsfceb1e35.jpg zp photo zp_zpsdcb58d75.jpg 96 photo 96_zpsc003153c.jpg

And to finish...dinner at Peppers in Pacific Grove. Yum!
