Stinson Sunshine

Springtime = some of the best weather in the Bay Area, right before the fog of summer settles over everything. Naturally, I like to take advantage of the sunshine whenever possible. Here are a few snapshots from a weekend at Stinson Beach.

Santa Cruzin'

Santa Cruz is such a cool spot. It makes for a super close and fun weekend - or even day - trip from SF. Here are a few snapshots of our most recent venture down there.

And then we made our way back up the coast to San Francisco to the tune of this gorgeous sunset. Until next time... photo IMG_3396_zpsd7242934.jpg

Merry Muir

All of the gray and rainy weather we've been having lately reminds me that it's time to post some photos from earlier this month at Muir Beach. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket 87 Photobucket

Gray Matter

Introducing my newwwwww and amazing lens, the Canon 50mm/f1.4!! I took these shots at one of my favorite beaches ever. None of the photos have been edited (except the last one), so they're quite hazy. But I think it conveys the perfect amount of romance.
No fog on the walk out.  Photobucket What is this? Fog? Here?? Photobucket Good thing we're prepared for the transition.Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
A perfect place to relax.

Baker

Baker Beach in the heat of a 70+ degree day. That's a scorcher here, and I have the sunburn to prove it :-/

Sunshine at Stinson

From the desert to the sea... Here are some snapshots from Stinson Beach last weekend, where I finally finished The Tiger's Wife after beginning it (gasp) just after Christmas. It's a little bit intense at times, but it's a very good read. I’m now onto The Secret History, and I can’t put it down! Maybe the sun will come back out this weekend, and I can retreat to my sandy perch once more to finish two books in one month! One can dream...

It was very foggy at first. I had my doubts about the sun's appearance.

But slowly, and in typical Bay Area style, the sun started to emerge!

As you can see, a lot of these pictures where taken lying down. I should admit that it was chilly, and I was wrapped up like Nanook of the North. While C wandered the beach in search of shells and something active to do, I picked at a muffin I shouldn't have eaten, read from my Kindle, and napped.
