September Startup

I love this time of year in San Francisco. The seasons (as we know them here on the West Coast) start to turn a bit, and the sunshine returns from its weeks of hiding behind San Francisco summertime clouds. I'm headed out to enjoy it - I hope you have a beautiful weekend!

Yosemite

What better time to visit Yosemite National Park than over Veteran's Day weekend when the park is free of charge and free of summertime crowds?? Here are some snapshots of the adventure.

Early morning drive, alternating between very excited and very cool. It was a gorgeous drive into the park.

Everything was stunning.

Very excited to be there!

We hiked to Mirror Lake, but it was more like Mirror Puddle :-/ A scary woodsman emerged from the shadows there.

Then he tried to pet the dear! I advised against it...

Then, the fog started to roll in. We're used to that!

Well, until next time.

Tiger Tales

Wandering around on Halloween, I came upon a lonely circus tiger roaming the streets of San Francisco.

He was performing circus tricks without any audience at all.

Sometimes they worked out...

Other times they didn't...

In any case, he needed a friend.

But could he be around crowds, or in a moving vehicle, or would he spook?

So, I decided to see if he was tamable. He was reluctant at first. But, in time he grew more comfortable...

until he broke free and came into his own, dancing and mingling as if he weren't any different from everyone else.

The moral of this story, boys and girls, is that while you should always be cautious about playing with wild animals, sometimes they surprise you in very good ways.

Heeeey, Pumpkin

For someone who hates flying as much as I do, I am WAY excited for my first San Francisco Fleet Week! I hear that the Blue Angels have already started practicing. Fun, fun, fun!! In the meantime, and until I have time to post what's sure to be lots of blurry plane shots, here are some very Fall pumpkin pictures!

This was the first year I carved my own pumpkin. I realized during the messy process why my mother never let us hold the knife as kids. We were only allowed to draw the faces we wanted carved onto our pumpkins. Well, look at me now, ma haha!
